Dear Cabinet Minister Patty Hajdu,

Re: The damage that has been caused by electronic cigarettes

Kindly help me to understand current legislation regarding electronic cigarettes (also known as e-cigarettes and “vaping”). (Insert excerpts from Canadian legislation with questions regarding its interpretation. Watch for use of language and/or punctuation which facilitates multiple interpretations that can ultimately be used by unscrupulous businesses (or “white-collar” criminals) as ways (often called “loop-holes”) to get around the law—that is, break the “spirit” of the law without being concerned about being convicted of “criminal intent”.)

Insert reasons why electronic cigarettes may be harmful including, but not limited to:

  1. Impact on DNA (summarize description of Deoxyribonucleic acid found here and link to research)
  2. Brain damage (link to research)
  3. Lung damage (link to research)
  4. Physical damage (link to example where electronic devices have EXPLODED in the faces of children)
  5. Likelihood of addiction (link to research)
  6. Possible negative impacts on a person’s overall health and/or “quality of life” if their income is diverted to feed a habit versus a need or desire. (Consider the impact over various stages of one’s life such as choices about schooling, occupation, family, lifestyle.)

I have included two (correct number regrading articles included) articles that detail the problems associated with electronic cigarettes. You now have knowledge, or ought to have knowledge, of why the sale of this product should be banned completely!

Sincerely,
