Re: twb.ROCKS Investigative Journalism Contest!

Among other things, I am an independent journalist with enough material to publish two book series. To include additional perspectives, I have developed a contest. Would you be interested in becoming involved? Still under wraps, the plan is to:

a) approach high schools to determine interest in participation,

b) secure interest from businesses and organizations which would like to contribute to the event,

c) recruit media outlets/personalities to raise awareness of the event timeline and

d) manage the award ceremony with the help of volunteers.

Proposed contest rules:

1. Participants must have attended high school for at least one day (optional, given https://twb.rocks/upig/indoctrination).
2. Submissions should be based upon one of the industries already being [analyzed] in the UPIG series (see Notes).
3. Articles must be submitted between April 1-15, 2026.
4. All submissions will be published and available for review by midnight e.s.t. April 22, 2026.
5. Voting is to be completed by midnight e.s.t. Monday, April 27, 2026 (by those who submitted an article^[1]).
6. Award ceremony is to be held on Friday, May 8, 2026^[2]: venue is to be determined.
   

Proposed contest parameters:

1. Number of categories: 2 (Individual, Team)
2. English only, 800 words or less, anonymous submissions permitted
3. Hand-written (by author or whomever author must hire to generate a legible document)
4. The scoring matrix will reward quality of argument, exemplary use of vocabulary and legibility without acknowledgement of age, race, religion, sex, political affiliation, income level, formal education acquired or surname.

• Articles may be investigative and within the current “Overton Window” (eg. those outlined at https://twb.rocks/on-tour); or, speculative (eg. that being developed at https://twb.rocks/living/spirit/satans-little-season/beast-system/heat-event/glorieta-new-mexico).
• Additional contest categories currently under consideration include artwork for each book cover in the UPIG and UPIG-2 series being listed at https://twb.rocks/upig and https://twb.rocks/upig-2, respectively.

[2] May 8, 2026 will be my court-napped son Sean’s 20th birthday.
