Well, first of all: what is pride?
A 30-year old Webster’s dictionary defines the word “pride” as:
- noun > 1 : the quality or state of being proud as a: excessive self-esteem (conceit), b a reasonable or justifiable self-respect, c pleasure or satisfaction taken in some act, accomplishment, or possession 2 : proud or disdainful behaviour or treatment (disdain) 3 : something that is or is fit to be a source of pride (i.e. this pup is the pride of the litter) 4 : a company of lions [Old English pryde from prud (proud)]
Strong’s Concordance (Hebrew) defines the word “pride” as:
- H1346 arrogance or majesty; by implication (concretely) ornament:— excellency, haughtiness, highness, pride, proudness, swelling

In my view? Pride is a sin because believing that one’s talents and/or accomplishments are something other than gifts from God will put them on a path which will end far, far away from Him: that is, you’ll “forget” Him.
