Introduction
The Masoretic version of the Old Testament was produced, after Jesus, by Rabbis who, among other things:
  • lowered the ages in the genealogies chronicled in Genesis 5; and,
  • accordingly, transferred the title of the Melchizedek priesthood from Jesus to Shem.
The Rabbis effectively hide the fact that the Messiah had returned while removing about 1,400 years from the chronology; so, the congruency of all prophesies, from Adam to Jesus, were lost. Furthermore, the Masoretic texts imply works-based versus faith-based salvation. All groups intent on deceiving followers of Jesus promote works-based salvation which simultaneously lessens the deity of Christ.
Evidence
Why (and how) did they work so hard to hide Jesus from us? He is, and always was, the key to eternal life:

It is also important to note that the Old Testament Scripture that Jesus quotes in the New Testament (ie. the “red letters”#) is from the Greek Septuagint (ie. LXX#), not the Masoretic texts! Conclusion
Claiming that the King James Version (“KJV”) represents the best version of the Old Testament is an ignorant lie, at best; and, more likely an attempt to suppress Jesus’ own words. Regarding the Septuagint’s credibility, Dr. Heiser said it best: 
“Jesus’ words come straight from the Septuagint, that’s all the authority one needs.”
