The idea for this article was sparked by a Twitter account that began to lean heavily into the judgment of others, and little else. Her decision to block me (after I began to highlight the risks of her false teaching) ended my attempts at reproval; however, the original thread can be found at https://x.com/CaeJak/status/2020515936042692878?s=20.

(February 8, 2026) I had just returned from a road trip to Philadelphia which included a “Freemason” handshake¹ from the woman managing the cash at a used bookstore.

Who am I to judge?

It was the first stop of my trip and I found it odd that the shop had only a few Bibles for sale and that two of them were kept behind the counter. Good grief: “Is the Eastern Star# already positioned to dispose of Bibles?”, I wondered. Already expecting access to be curtailed, I wasn’t expecting to meet the gatekeeper head on but decided I was in no position to judge. The gifts of Faith, Knowledge and Wisdom had yet to arrive for her².

Those in the body of Christ³. His ⁴ .

Some will even use literary devices (ie. cherry-picking Scripture, self-supporting definitions) to persuade people to choose judgment over mercy, including:

converting a correction by Jesus into a command!
implying “judgment (of others)” = discernment

Forsaking Mercy

One of my (first) favourite verses was Matthew 5:22 (#see Karaoke Cover): as a relatively new follower of Christ and the newly received gifts of Faith and Knowledge that came with it(# see article on gifts), it was just too easy for me to view my husband and his many accomplices as worthless fools. As I increased by Biblical literacy, I realized that it wasn’t enough for me to be indifferent toward them, I had to actually love them! While I initially thought that impossible, He helped me to first develop sympathy for them. So incredibly deceived, they many have no idea that they could be damning themselves. Then, empathy; imagining how easily I could have been duped into committing fraud which may have led extortion to commit more serious crime. Finally compassion and my increased efforts to reach them with multiple doses of reality, despite all of the harm they intentionally caused me and my children. #See Sean and Cate, etc.

Dear reader,

I invite you to question the motivation of any individual who discourages works#, mocks those who keep the weekly Sabbath# and/or show disdain for His Ten Commandments#. While perhaps not overtly judging you, they may be attempting to undermine your devotion, just as the serpent did in the garden#.
