Lament Over Fallen Babylon | The Fall of Babylon | The Fall of Babylon | Doom to the City of Darkness
1 | After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor. | And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. | After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority; and the earth was made bright with his splendour. | Following this I saw another Angel descend from Heaven. His authority was immense, his glory flooded earth with brightness,
2 | With a mighty voice he shouted:
“‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great!’[a] |
And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. | He called out with a mighty voice,
‘Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! |
his voice thunderous:
Ruined, ruined, Great Babylon, ruined! |
|
3 | For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries.” |
For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. | For all the nations have drunk[b] of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power[c] of her luxury.’ |
All nations drank the wild wine of her whoring; kings of the earth went whoring with her; entrepreneurs made millions exploiting her. |
|
Warning to Escape Babylon’s Judgment | Babylon’s Iniquities | —
4 | Then I heard another voice from heaven say:
“‘Come out of her, my people,’[b] |
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. | Then I heard another voice from heaven saying,
‘Come out of her, my people, |
Just then I heard another shout out of Heaven:
Get out, my people, as fast as you can, |
|
5 | for her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes. |
For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. | for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. |
Her sins stink to high Heaven; God has remembered every evil she’s done. |
|
6 | Give back to her as she has given; pay her back double for what she has done. Pour her a double portion from her own cup. |
***Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. *** | Render to her as she herself has rendered, and repay her double for her deeds; mix a double draught for her in the cup she mixed. |
Give her back what she’s given, double what she’s doubled in her works, double the recipe in the cup she mixed; |
|
7 | Give her as much torment and grief as the glory and luxury she gave herself. In her heart she boasts, ‘I sit enthroned as queen. I am not a widow;[c] |
How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. | As she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, so give her a like measure of torment and grief. Since in her heart she says, “I rule as a queen; I am no widow, and I will never see grief”, |
Bring her flaunting and wild ways to torment and tears. Because she gloated, “I’m queen over all, and no widow, never a tear on my face,” |
|
8 | Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her: death, mourning and famine. She will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her. |
Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. | therefore her plagues will come in a single day— pestilence and mourning and famine— and she will be burned with fire; for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.’ |
In one day, disasters will crush her— death, heartbreak, and famine— Then she’ll be burned by fire, because God, the Strong God who judges her, has had enough. |
|
Threefold Woe Over Babylon’s Fall | Babylon’s Destruction | —
9 | “When the kings of the earth who committed adultery with her and shared her luxury see the smoke of her burning, they will weep and mourn over her. | And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, | And the kings of the earth, who committed fornication and lived in luxury with her, will weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning; | “The kings of the earth will see the smoke of her burning, and they’ll cry and carry on, the kings who went night after night to her brothel.
10 | Terrified at her torment, they will stand far off and cry:
“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city, |
Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. | they will stand far off, in fear of her torment, and say,
‘Alas, alas, the great city, |
They’ll keep their distance for fear they’ll get burned, and they’ll cry their lament:
Doom, doom, the great city doomed! |
|
11 | “The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her because no one buys their cargoes anymore— | And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more: | And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn for her, since no one buys their cargo any more, | “The traders will cry and carry on because the bottom dropped out of business, no more market for their goods:
12 | cargoes of gold, silver, precious stones and pearls; fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet cloth; every sort of citron wood, and articles of every kind made of ivory, costly wood, bronze, iron and marble; | The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, | cargo of gold, silver, jewels and pearls, fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet, all kinds of scented wood, all articles of ivory, all articles of costly wood, bronze, iron, and marble, | gold, silver, precious gems, pearls; fabrics of fine linen, purple, silk, scarlet; perfumed wood and vessels of ivory, precious woods, bronze, iron, and marble;
13 | cargoes of cinnamon and spice, of incense, myrrh and frankincense, of wine and olive oil, of fine flour and wheat; cattle and sheep; horses and carriages; and human beings sold as slaves. | And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men. | cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, frankincense, wine, olive oil, choice flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, slaves—and human lives.[d] | cinnamon and spice, incense, myrrh, and frankincense; wine and oil, flour and wheat; cattle, sheep, horses, and chariots. And slaves—their terrible traffic in human lives.
14 | “They will say, ‘The fruit you longed for is gone from you. All your luxury and splendor have vanished, never to be recovered.’ | And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all. | ‘The fruit for which your soul longed has gone from you, and all your dainties and your splendour are lost to you, never to be found again!’ |
Everything you’ve lived for, gone! All delicate and delectable luxury, lost! Not a scrap, not a thread to be found! |
|
15 | The merchants who sold these things and gained their wealth from her will stand far off, terrified at her torment. They will weep and mourn | The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, | The merchants of these wares, who gained wealth from her, will stand far off, in fear of her torment, weeping and mourning aloud, | “The traders who made millions off her kept their distance for fear of getting burned, and cried and carried on all the more:
16 | and cry out:
“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city, |
And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! | ‘Alas, alas, the great city, clothed in fine linen, in purple and scarlet, adorned with gold, with jewels, and with pearls! |
Doom, doom, the great city doomed! Dressed in the latest fashions, adorned with the finest jewels, |
|
17 | In one hour such great wealth has been brought to ruin!’
“Every sea captain, and all who travel by ship, the sailors, and all who earn their living from the sea, will stand far off. |
For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, | For in one hour all this wealth has been laid waste!’
And all shipmasters and seafarers, sailors and all whose trade is on the sea, stood far off |
in one hour such wealth wiped out!
“All the ship captains and travelers by sea, sailors and toilers of the sea, stood off at a distance |
|
18 | When they see the smoke of her burning, they will exclaim, ‘Was there ever a city like this great city?’ | And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! | and cried out as they saw the smoke of her burning,
‘What city was like the great city?’ |
and cried their lament when they saw the smoke from her burning: ‘Oh, what a city! There was never a city like her!’
19 | They will throw dust on their heads, and with weeping and mourning cry out:
“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city, |
And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate. | And they threw dust on their heads, as they wept and mourned, crying out,
‘Alas, alas, the great city, |
They threw dust on their heads and cried as if the world had come to an end:
Doom, doom, the great city doomed! |
|
20 | “Rejoice over her, you heavens! Rejoice, you people of God! Rejoice, apostles and prophets! For God has judged her with the judgment she imposed on you.” |
Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her. | Rejoice over her, O heaven, you saints and apostles and prophets! For God has given judgement for you against her. | “O Heaven, celebrate! And join in, saints, apostles, and prophets! God has judged her; every wrong you suffered from her has been judged.”
The Finality of Babylon’s Doom | Babylon will be thrown down
21 | Then a mighty angel picked up a boulder the size of a large millstone and threw it into the sea, and said:
“With such violence |
And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. | Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying,
‘With such violence Babylon the great city |
A strong Angel reached for a boulder—huge, like a millstone—and heaved it into the sea, saying,
Heaved and sunk, the great city Babylon, |
|
22 | The music of harpists and musicians, pipers and trumpeters, will never be heard in you again. No worker of any trade will ever be found in you again. The sound of a millstone will never be heard in you again. |
And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; | and the sound of harpists and minstrels and of flautists and trumpeters will be heard in you no more; and an artisan of any trade will be found in you no more; and the sound of the millstone will be heard in you no more; |
Silent the music of harpists and singers— you’ll never hear flutes and trumpets again. Artisans of every kind—gone; you’ll never see their likes again. The voice of a millstone grinding falls dumb; you’ll never hear that sound again. |
|
23 | The light of a lamp will never shine in you again. The voice of bridegroom and bride will never be heard in you again. Your merchants were the world’s important people. By your magic spell all the nations were led astray. |
And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. | and the light of a lamp will shine in you no more; and the voice of bridegroom and bride will be heard in you no more; for your merchants were the magnates of the earth, and all nations were deceived by your sorcery. |
The light from lamps, never again; never again laughter of bride and groom. Her traders robbed the whole earth blind, and by black-magic arts deceived the nations. |
|
24 | In her was found the blood of prophets and of God’s holy people, of all who have been slaughtered on the earth.” |
And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth. | And in you[e] was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slaughtered on earth.’ |
The only thing left of Babylon is blood— the blood of saints and prophets, the murdered and the martyred. |

I would never ask my court-napped children, Sean Kiska and Cate Kiska to testify in court; however, they may want to when we get to the divorce trial. For others reading this who are a little older, know that there has already been precedent set: Teens can sue the CAS for all of the irreparable damage that they have caused. For more information on how children are systemically ripped from their devoted mum, see pfi.rocks/organized-crime and its link to the list of sociopaths (or, those demonized) who literally could not care less about people.
